New Delhi, June (EPC News):Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has received a mandatory clearance certificatethus giving a way for the opening of metro line form Qutub Minar to Gurgaon. The 14.47 km corridor connecting the millennium city with south Delhi is likely to be inaugurated by Wednesday by the hands of Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her Haryana counterpart Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Vadodara, Nov (EPC News): Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, laid the foundation
stone of Jindal Rail Infrastructure Limited's new railway rolling stock manufacturing
facility, located south of Karjan Railway station and spread across 204 bighas (117
acres approx), in Vadodara District of Gujarat. The project involves a total investment
of Rs2700 crores.

Mumbai, Apr (EPC News): Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Urban Transit Private
Ltd, part of the Scomi Group, as a design review consultant for Mumbai Monorail
in India. This project is an initiative of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development
Authority (MMRDA) to help ease traffic congestion and improve the environment in
the city. Scomi Engineering Bhd (Scomi Engineering) and its consortium partner Larsen
& Toubro (L&T) secured the Mumbai Monorail Project in November 2008.

New Delhi, Mar (EPC News): Unity Infraprojects Ltd, one of India's major civil contracting
firms, has geared up to take a lead in bagging big ticket railway infrastructure
projects. There are lots of opportunities as the railways have decided to ramp up
the larger version of infrastructure to bring more cities and towns on the map of
Indian Railways. Today, Indian Railways operate at least 11,000 trains every day
covering 63,465km (39,435 miles) across the length and breadth of the country, making
it one of the world's largest rail networks.

New Delhi, Jan (EPC News): The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on
originating basis during April–December 2009 were Rs62975.58 crore compared to Rs57901.88
crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 8.76 per cent.

earnings from commodity-wise freight traffic during April-November 2009 as compared
to Rs33638.30 crore during the corresponding period last year.
